Creativity Collective: Share your Insights

Creating Diverse Platforms for Innovative presentation or publication that are peer-reviewed, provides students with professional development opportunities and the confidence that intrinsic motivated learning and their voice in general, matters.

THE FUTURE: Promoting activism, empowers students to trust their vision, embrace altruism, and takes student interest in social media habits to a potentially more useful and professional level. Providing course options that can lead to instructor and peer-reviewed publication, creates exciting and relevant outcomes for student work that exceeds the value of most standardized assessments. The Creativity Collective is a peer organization that reviews student work for digital Student Publication and professional Credit.

Grades, outcomes, and even diplomas, do not motivate the highest self-motivated student investments, nor guarantee that students will extend what they’ve learned to their non-classroom lives.

  • PUBLISH while still a Student:

    • Formats: Short essay, poetry/creative writing, papers/articles [max. 2000 words bibliography included], podcasts or audio narratives (mp3 with single or multiple images); and video [max. length 8 minutes].

    • Ages demographics: Primary (K-6), Secondary (7-12), and Higher/Continuing Ed.

  • TOPICS for student publication are in three central areas for student innovation:

    • cultural competency (diversity, equity, justice, and inclusivity), key perspectives related to balancing inequity and injustice,

    • creative educational reform (models new insights teaching and learning from the student perspective), or

    • Interdisciplinary - promotes “new” or unique insights with the inclusion of multiple or combined disciplines.

  • TWO Publishing Platforms:

    • WCCE Social Media Group for ALL students that have been vetted and recommended by an educator. This is simple disciplined exposure, but with instructor vetted support. Posts to social media may reach numerous other students or educators, but in all cases, give student work a life beyond the classroom [Credential: Student has been Recommended for, and published to WCCE Social Media platforms]; and

    • Juried Student multi-media journal publications. The ‘Best’ of student work (as recommended by educators) in written, aural, or video format, may be juried by either the Student Editor team or by professional educators, and published in our annual student publication Journal: “Tomorrow’s Leaders”. [Credential: Student has been Published in the WCCE Student Journal: Year/Vol/Issue #].
